You can now buy a Dungeons & Dragons-inspired beer
London’s Dungeons & Dragons bar and community space RPG Taverns has teamed up with Edinburgh-based nano-brewery Closet Brewing to release a beer that has been inspired by the board game.

The 3.2% ABV collaboration beer, named Tabletop, has been designed to be “light, refreshing, and highly sessionable” due to D&D games sometimes lasting beyond three hours. The limited edition brew will be available UK-wide until stock runs out, celebrating the shared values of “creativity, inclusivity and fun that define both businesses”.
‘Biblically accurate D20’
The label artwork for Tabletop was created by queer, neurodivergent, trans Edinburgh-based designer and tattoo artist Orion who also happens to be a lifelong D&D fan. Orion said they have been particularly excited to bring the concept of a “biblically accurate D20” to life for the can design.
Closet Brewing, which is run by two queer women and is known for its vegan beers, teamed up with Elephant & Castle-based RPG Taverns.

Speaking about the collaborative brew, Closet Brewing head brewer and director Lucy Stevens said: “I’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop RPGs since I was a kid, and I’m a massive fan of the community RPG Taverns are building in London.”
‘Doing cool things’
Stevens explained: “They’ve supported us since the early days of Closet, so we leapt at the chance to work together, not just on creating a great, super-sessionable beer, but also the opportunity to run a one-of-a-kind D&D adventure. At its heart, this collaboration is about doing cool things and having a lot of fun, which is absolutely at the core of our mission.”
RPG Taverns co-owner Josh Saco added: “RPG Taverns has always been about bringing people together around the table, whether that’s through storytelling, dice-rolling or just sharing a drink. Collaborating with Closet Brewing felt like a natural fit, they’re creative, share many of our values around community, and are unafraid to do things differently. I’m really happy to bring Tabletop to our own community and celebrate the joy of board games together.”
Tabletop will be available online via the Closet Brewing webshop as well as stocked in a selection of independent bars and bottle shops across the UK while stocks last.
