Silverhand champions ‘more accessible, more local, more sustainable’ English wines
Kent-based producer Silverhand Estate is reshaping the perceptions of English wine, celebrating a year of high-profile partnerships and listings, as well as recognition for its impeccable sustainability credentials.

The English wine brand, a pioneer of organic production, has steadily gained traction in recent years, with a string of impressive listings, partnerships and awards solidifying its reputation among both the trade and consumers.
The 485ha (1,200 acre) estate, which includes 243ha (600 acres) of vines, is the UK’s largest single organic vineyard, where tradition and innovation are blended seamlessly, and environmental stewardship is a central business goal.
In November 2024, Silverhand became the UK’s first carbon-negative vineyard (without relying on carbon offsetting) which was verified independently by the Farm Carbon Toolkit and last May, it became part of the North Kent Woods and Down National Nature Reserve. Launched as part of the King’s Series, the 21st National Nature Reserve was the first to include a certified organic and fully carbon-negative vineyard.
This gold standard environmental designation acknowledges both ecological stewardship and landscape value, while recognising that a thriving agri-business can be incorporated into a protected landscape.
And it is clear that regeneration and carbon drawdown underpins all viticultural and operational decisions at the estate, far exceeding what is necessary for certification.
For example, there is a dedicated team of conservationists who work to enhance biodiversity across the estate, strengthen the resilience of the natural ecosystem and improve soil health, which is regularly measured for organic matter. As well as measure such as using a flock of rare-breed sheep to enhance biodiversity, modern technology such as detailed climatic and geological data is employed to guide any intervention.
The team also participates in the Countryside Stewardship Higher Trust.

Portfolio
Considering the forward-thinking portfolio was only launched in 2022, it has rapidly gained traction. The last 18-months have seen it score several milestone listings that are already boosting its accessibility within the UK as well as underlining its affordable premium positioning.
In March 2025, the Silver Reign Brut was listed across Royal Shakespeare Company theatres (replacing Prosecco as the house pour) while Silverhand Charmat secured a major national listing with Majestic. In the on-trade, a landmark partnership was signed with the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA), with Silverhand becoming the organisation’s first official English wine. And at the end of the year, Silverhand also became the Official English Sparkling Wine Partner for Fulham FC and Fulham Pier, London’s newest riverside destination, in a multi-year partnership.
The portfolio comprises Classic Brut NV, Blanc de Blancs, Chardonnay, Solaris, Limited Release Pinot Noir, Strawberries & Cream Pinot Noir Rosé, and the ultra‑prestigious Blanc de Noirs KYNG, as well as Charmat‑method Silver Reign and Silver Reign Rosé.
All the wines are made from 100% estate‑grown organic fruit to reflect Kent’s chalky soils and coastal climate.
