The Jancis Robinson MW story begins in new seven-part podcast
The world’s leading wine writer is the subject of a new seven-part audio series, The Jancis Robinson Story. Produced and hosted by Richard Hemming MW, the podcast offers an intimate portrait of Robinson’s remarkable life and career, told in her own words and those of her closest collaborators.

Episode one, Seeding, marks the beginning of what promises to be the most comprehensive telling yet of Jancis Robinson’s story. Recorded throughout August 2025, the series captures Robinson reflecting candidly on her upbringing, early influences and the formative years that shaped her journey from Oxford graduate to globally revered wine authority.
Producer Richard Hemming MW describes the project as “the definitive story of Jancis’s life so far”, a chronicle not only of her professional ascent but also of the people and passions that made it possible.

Featuring family, friends and wine legends
The series draws on original in-person interviews with Robinson herself as well as a cast of distinguished voices, including Oz Clarke, Hugh Johnson and novelist Julian Barnes. Family members and childhood friends also contribute, offering insights and anecdotes from her five-decade career.
As per JancisRobinson.com, the podcast promises to reveal the “extraordinary career and quiet revolutions” of the critic whose prose and palate have shaped the way the world reads and drinks wine.
