Despite receiving both of his Covid vaccine doses, Piers Morgan suspects that he contracted Covid during England’s Euro 2020 final loss to Italy, which the TV host attended at Wembley Stadium.

Writing in his column for the Mail on Sunday Morgan said:

“After two weeks battling the Covid Delta variant, I’ve been left with waves of fatigue and a persistent cough that apparently could go on for quite a while.

“But by far the most annoying side effect is my current ongoing inability to taste or smell fine wine.

“Fellow vino-loving friends have been quick to offer support, albeit also sensing an opportunity to save money.

“‘I have a bottle of Chateau Batailley for us to share,’ emailed Andrew Neil from his home in France.

“‘But if your taste buds are still in recess then I will plunder my private stash of Blue Nun for you. Apparently if you drink it, you could die, but if you inject it, the virus dies.

“‘Proven scientific fact – Donald Trump told me.’”

Morgan says he was bed ridden for two weeks after testing positive for Covid via lateral flow and PCR tests.  “As I’m sure everyone who gets it feels, it’s a strange, disquieting moment to know I have this killer virus inside me,” he said.

He went on to say that his time with coronavirus was “definitely the roughest I’ve felt from any illness in my adult life,” and thanked the “brilliant scientists” who created the Oxford Astra-Zeneca vaccine.

We recently reported that Portuguese producer has developed a kit to help restore sense of smell in Covid patients.
