Corney & Barrow HK launches wine course

Designed for “eager beginners”, Corney & Barrow’s new Wine Apprentice course comprises three modules covering wine service, wine styles and key wine producing regions and countries.

Catering to Hong Kong’s ever growing wine consumer base, Corney & Barrow’s wine course aims to expand on basic wine knowledge over its three modules, with the first session scheduled for Thursday, 25 August.

Led by wine educator, Marjolaine Roblette-Geres who holds the WSET Diploma and is the former communications manager of WSTA in London, the classes will also have a maximum number of 10 students, “to ensure individual attention.”

The first two modules, on 25 August and 6 October will provide an introduction to wine service, different wine styles and key regions and countries, whereas the third and final session on 17 November addresses the perennially favourite subject of wine and food pairings.

Over 15 wines from Corney & Barrow’s portfolio will be tasted as well as a gift voucher and discounts on wine purchases for three months after course completion.

Each session is HK$500 individually, $900 for any two classes and $HK1,200 for the full programme.

Corney & Barrow in Hong Kong is headed up by general manager, Thibaut Mathieu and currently has the exclusive agency of Soldera, Pingus and Olivier Leflaive, as well as Oregon’s Saffron Fields and Mendoza’s Ruca Malen.
