Armit adds Castello di Buttrio

Armit Wines has added the “elegant” and “distinctive” wines from the Felluga family’s Castello di Buttrio to its portfolio.

Castello di Buttrio is located in Colli Orientali in Friuli and focuses on white wine production with its 26 hectares planted with Ribolla Gialla, Friulano, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pignolo, Refosco and Verduzo.

Armit explained that the move was part of a “strategic category review” to include more white wines and indigenous varieties from northern Italy to its portfolio.

Edwina Watson, buyer at Armit, said: “I was thrilled to discover Alessandra Felluga’s wonderful wines and property in Friuli. It is a unique estate with a special place in the history of the region.

“The commitment of the Felluga family is unparalleled and I am very proud to bring these elegant, distinctive wines to the attention of our private and trade customers and to further build the reputation of Armit Wines’ comprehensive Italian portfolio”.

Alessandra Felluga, whose family have owned the estate since 1994, added: “We are very pleased to begin our relationship with Armit Wines who have consistently represented some of the best wineries in the world. Their Italian portfolio is unrivalled and we look forward to being a part of it.”
