El Bulli chef announces two new venues

Ferran Adrià has announced the opening of two venues in Barcelona, in partnership with his brother Albert.

The Iglesias brothers, Pedro, Borjam and Juan Carlos, who run the acclaimed seafood restaurant Rías de Galicia are also behind the project.

Both sites are to be located in the Flotats building in Barcelona, located in its theatre and cabaret quarter and include a cocktail bar, 41 Degrees and Tickets, a tapas bar.

Tickets is due to open in January 2011 and will include a seafood bar and also a beer bar, where Estrella Damm, the local beer, is rumoured to be the house pour.

Tickets will have further themed areas, with a futuristic bar, which will serve dishes such as hedgehog with avocado and mint jelly and Manchego ice cream.

Furthermore, there will be an area dedicated to all kinds of grilled meat and a carnival inspired dessert bar.

The cocktail bar, scheduled to open later this month, will have, according to Adrià, an “industrial aesthetic” serving classic and newly created cocktails “full of creativity with no limits for imagination”.
