Acker Merrall’s auctions in New York and Hong Kong set over 1400 world records in 2015, the company said in a statement.

There were eleven “Million Dollar Brands” at Acker Merrall in 2015, led by Domaine de la Romanee Conti.

The top 50 lots of 2015 were dominated exclusively by DRC and Henri Jayer, which the auctioneer said was indicative of a rising demand for Burgundy.

Burgundy’s market share versus Bordeaux grew by 10% in 2015, with Burgundy accounting for almost 46% of total sales compared to Bordeaux’s 27%.

“To be number one in New York, Hong Kong and the World, it doesn’t get much better than that,” saidJohn Kapon, CEO of Acker Merrall & Condit CEO.

“It makes us all very proud to be atop the market, and we could not do any of it without the incredible support of all our friends and clients around the world.”

Acker’s first Hong Kong auction of 2016 will be held on 23 January, and its first New York auction of 2016 will be on 6 February.
