Oatley Fine Wine set to distribute Casella’s premium wine

Yellow Tail producer Casella Family Brands has appointed Oatley Fine Wine Merchants as the new distribution partner for its premium wine portfolio in Australia, in a bid to strengthen its presence in key sales channels.

The partnership, which takes effect from 1 July 2026, will see Oatley Fine Wine Merchants represent several of Casella Family Brands’ best-known premium labels, including Peter Lehmann Wines, Morris of Rutherglen and Brand’s Laira, across the on-premise and independent retail sectors.

Casella Family Brands said the agreement is expected to support growth by expanding the reach of its premium brands, leveraging Oatley’s national distribution network and customer relationships, and increasing visibility among premium wine consumers.

John Casella, managing director of Casella Family Brands, described the partnership as an important step for the company’s premium portfolio.

‘Exciting new chapter’

“Partnering with Oatley Fine Wine Merchants marks an exciting new chapter for Peter Lehmann, Morris and Brand’s Laira,” he said. “Their deep relationships in on-premise and independent retail, combined with their commitment to family-owned producers, make them a natural fit for these iconic Australian brands.

“On-premise venues and independent wine stores are vital environments for premium wine, as they’re where consumers discover, experience and engage with brands. Strengthening our presence in these channels is a key driver of long-term brand growth.”

Oatley Fine Wine Merchants, which is part of the Oatley family business, specialises in representing independent, family-owned wine producers across Australia.

Supporting global brands

Owner Sandy Oatley said the company was pleased to add the brands to its portfolio. “We’re proud to welcome these respected brands to our portfolio,” he said.

“Their heritage and quality align strongly with our philosophy, and we look forward to accelerating their growth with our customers across Australia.”

Casella Family Brands said the arrangement would also allow it to concentrate resources on expanding its off-premise business and supporting its core global brands, including Yellow Tail, as consumer and customer preferences continue to evolve.
