You can now get paid to go on holiday and drink wine

Getting paid to drink wine is one thing. Getting paid to go on holiday is another. But combine them and, you guessed it: you’ve got a dream job. Here’s how you can apply.

get paid to go on holiday and drink wine - a glass of wine with a book

Specialist wine retailer Majestic is hiring for a imaginatively named ‘Vintern’ position. But this is no ordinary internship.

Instead, the successful applicant will be sent on holiday (with flights and accommodation paid for) and paid a £600 to taste wine.

The purpose of the job, Majestic says, is to ascertain whether wine really does taste better when you’re on holiday versus drinking it from the comfort of your own home. To that end, the winning applicant will be sent to Portugal’s Quinta Da Boavista vineyard to taste wines featured in Majestic’s Spain & Portugal Summer Case, before heading back home and tasting them once more.

You will have your flights and accommodation covered by Majestic, be paid a £600 fee for your exertions over the three days, and be treated to a horse and carriage ride to the vineyard as well as a three course lunch with accompanying wine.

Your findings will later be published on Majestic’s website.

No previous wine tasting experience is required for the role. To apply, you’ll need to confirm that you are over the age of 18, have a valid passport, detail your availability in September, and then let Majestic know two things; your favourite wine to drink on holiday, and why you’d be perfect for the role.

Good luck!
