Inter Rhône open white wine events to the public

Inter Rhône is hoping to boost the popularity of the often overlooked white wines of the southeastern French region, after opening up its Rhône in White events to the public for the first time this year.

Rhône Valley 2022 harvest: a slow return to normality?

The event is taking place in Norway, Sweden, UK (Edinburgh), Denmark, France, Belgium, USA and Canada (although this remains a trade only even) “with the goal of positioning the Rhône Valley among the world’s leading white wine regions,” Inter Rhône said.

“This is a unique opportunity for wine lovers to discover the richness and diversity of our white AOCs — from emblematic terroirs to little-known gems,” Philippe Pellaton – President of Inter Rhône added.

Edinburgh played host to the event last month, with a trade tasting offering of diverse profiles of Rhône Valley whites, alongside masterclasses hosted by Rhône experts Matt Walls & Alistair Cooper MW. In the evening the event welcomed consumers, with a lively party,

“The event was a testament to the growing interest and appreciation for Rhône Valley white wines,” Inter Rhône said.

Around 12% of the 2024 harvest was dedicated to white wine production and Inter Rhône notes what they see as “a consistent increase in sales”, with the UK at the forefront of this trend The UK, as the region’s second largest export market.
