Sake Ono partners with Drinks One in UK

Japanese brand Sake Ono has appointed Drinks One as its exclusive distribution partner in the UK.

Sake Ono

Sake Ono was launched in April 2024 and is made in the Yoshi No Gawa brewery, which was established in 1548 in Niigata, Japan. The brand’s first propriety blend, a Junmai Daiginjo, is produced in small batches with rice, yeast, koji, and water sourced from the Niigata site. The new brand represents the first time the brewery has worked with an American organisation and is described as an expression of ‘true Japanese artistry by industry veterans’.

With its new partnership with Drinks One, Sake Ono is debuting in the UK market. For the distributor, adding the sake to its portfolio is a testament to its commitment to delivering excellence and innovation within the beverage sector.

A representative of Drinks One Brands commented: “We are thrilled to partner with Sake Ono and bring this exceptional sake to the UK market. At Drinks One, we pride ourselves on curating a portfolio of ultra-premium brands that push boundaries and redefine categories, and Sake Ono is the perfect addition. Its blend of Japanese artistry and modern innovation exemplifies the quality and sophistication we strive to deliver to our on-trade partners and consumers. We look forward to working closely with the Sake Ono team to establish this remarkable brand as a staple within the UK’s beverage landscape.”

The brand’s flagship, Junmai Daiginjo, offers honeydew, lemon peel, white floral and green apple notes with umami undertones. The sake’s dry finish means it is recommended to be served in cocktails or neat in a chilled white wine glass.
