Be the hype man (or woman) for your Merlot

Your Merlot has some impressive characteristics, but being able to enter itself into competitions isn’t one of them. Give your wine its red carpet moment by submitting it into The Global Merlot Masters 2025 by the end of January.

The Global Merlot Masters 2025 will be the biggest and most extensive blind tasting of Merlot anywhere in the world, all year. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to take part, and have your Merlot blind-tasted alongside expressions from some of the best Merlot-producing regions across the globe.

An expert panel of judges, including multiple Masters of Wine, led by the drinks business editor-in-chief Patrick Schmitt MW, will assess the wines, with no prior knowledge of origin or producer. This ensures an unbiased result, and gives lesser-known wineries and big global brands an equal chance to shine.

In last year’s competition, Merlot wines from Napa Valley, Turkey, Australia, South Africa and China all took home top medals. You can check out some of the highlights here.

Got a blend? That’s totally fine, as long as it’s produced from at least 50% Merlot.

The results and analysis will be published in the drinks business, both in the print magazine and online, as well as on social media and also in the dbAsia edition, to get your medal-winning wine in front of as many people as possible. If you have an exceptional product, we want to shout about it.
