Discover the most-mentioned Champagne brands in song lyrics

The most-mentioned Champagne brands in song lyrics has been revealed in a study showing the popularity and aspiration linked to fizz.

According to data from luxury retailer Fenwick, Champagne brands are mentioned in 1,136 songs and among many brand name drops there are three top brands of bubbly that continue to be mentioned time and time again.

Topping the list of Champagne brands mentioned in song lyrics is Moët & Chandon, which stands tall as the most cited Champagne after rising in the ranks and accruing an impressive 861 mentions in songs.

Coming in second place is the luxury Champagne brand Dom Pérignon weighing in with 180 mentions in song lyrics.

In third place, Veuve Clicquot also makes its way into the charts with a respectable 95 mentions in music lyrics.

The findings, shared by Fenwick, also ranked other designer brand mentions across the fashion, accessories and jewellery and watches categories, but the reiteration of Champagne brands still shows how it retains its position as a timeless and well-recognised luxury product favoured by celebrities.

The data identified how influential songwriters such as Taylor Swift and Katy Perry both reference Dom Pérignon in their lyrics, with Swift actually featuring it in her song ‘Champagne Problems’, while Perry namechecks it in her song ‘Birthday’ when she sings: “Pop your confetti, pop your Pérignon” giving it further appeal for music fans.

Despite Perry’s talk of Champagne, she recently announced the launch of her own line of alcohol-free aperitifs named De Soi, showing she is not afraid to join the non-alcoholic drinks craze.

Similarly, Swift’s connections to drinks are yet to cover Champagne other than its mention. Years ago, her video director Joseph Kahn led a Grand Marnier campaign, however her only connection to alcohol otherwise was when her record label launched the Big Machine Platinum Filtered Premium Vodka brand.

However, during an exclusive interview with the drinks business, another pop princess expressed an interest in releasing a Champagne brand. Back in December, Kylie Minogue revealed that she’s got her eye on adding a Champagne to her expanding wine range, showing that Champagne and music really do go hand-in-hand.
