Bacardi introduces Grey Goose Essences to the UK

Bacardi is readying the launch of Grey Goose Essences, in three flavours, for the UK market following a successful roll out in the US.

Speaking to db, Grey Goose brand director Kate Whitehead said: “We know consumers are looking for natural yet flavourful tasting drinks and trading up to more premium quality products, with many choosing to drink less, but better. When you start with quality ingredients, you can make a delicious cocktail easily, it can be as simple as just adding soda or tonic.”

Grey Goose Essences, which are made with Grey Goose vodka infused with real fruit essences and cold-distilled botanicals, will make their debut in the UK in April with the launch being followed by ‘Grey Goose Essences vodka spritz’ – a ready-to-drink (RTD) version in due course.

In what the drinks giant is calling “the brand’s most expansive innovation to date” each Essences expression will be 30% ABV and 82 calories per 50ml while containing no artificial ingredients.

The RTD version, which is yet to be released officially just yet, will be made with Grey Goose vodka, sparkling water, juice and natural flavours and is set to be 4.5% ABV per 250ml can weighing in at around 79 calories.

Grey Goose Essences trio of flavours include: Strawberry & Lemongrass, White Peach & Rosemary, and Watermelon & Basil.

Grey Goose vice president global marketing Martin de Dreuille added: “Spritzes and drinks featuring botanicals have been growing trends, and with consumers increasingly trying their hand at mixology, we knew there was an exciting opportunity to create a distinctive drink using real fruit essences that would take the guesswork out of mixing light tasting and delicious cocktails at home.”

The full Essences range will retail at £39 for a 700ml bottle and will be available nationwide from Waitrose, Tesco, Majestic Wine, Costco and other leading retailers with the RTD launch to follow in time for the warmer months.
