Drinkers left in stitches over hilarious cocktail design

Boozers in Liverpool were left giggling over the hilarious design of a cocktail they ordered in a bar, which turned out to be a real surprise.

Matt Blakemore, 31, took to Twitter on Friday to share the hilarious cocktail he ordered at Backyard Bar in Liverpool.

The drinker did not know what to expect when he ordered the “Hi-diddly-ho-neighbourino” cocktail, features on the drink spot’s new winter menu.

But when the drink arrived, imprinted with an image of The Simpsons’ character Ned Flanders in a skin-tight ski suit, Blakemore and his friends were left surprised and delighted.

“just ordered a cocktail called the ‘hi-diddly-ho-neighbourino’ and this is what arrived I’m screaming,” wrote Blakemore on Twitter.

The image of the well-loved cartoon neighbour first appeared in an episode of The Simpsons in which Ned says the suit makes him feel as if he is wearing “nothing at all”.

Blakemore’s tweet about the hilarious cocktail design has since gone viral online, with more than 68 likes and over 5,000 retweets.

The drinker commented on his own post, urging others to “love urself” by getting one of these cocktails. Commenters have replied sharing memes and GIFs of the famous cartoon scene in which the show’s protagonist, Homer Simpson, is seen skiing down the slopes shouting “Stupid sexy Flanders!”

The cocktail in question is made with Beefeater gin, apricot, Creme de Mure, blackberry, pomegranate, lemon and bitters.

Backyard bar, where the cocktail is on offer, is no stranger to a wacky and wonderful cocktail design. Having opening in April of this year, the bar has previously served slushies in mini wheelie bins.

In other news, a bartender was left creeped out by a customer’s “strange” request to her, sharing footage of the incident to social media – and commenters online have been left aghast at the brazen nature of the conversation. Read more on that here.
