RAW Wine and Burgundy tasting cancelled over Covid-19

The RAW Wine show in London and Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne tasting have all been called off due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Due to take place this week from 8-9 March, the RAW Wine organisers have decided to postpone the London event for now.

Founder Isabelle Legeron MW said: “With so many producers flying in from all over the world this seems like the right decision for such a large gathering of people and such an international event. RAW Wine is a community and we don’t want to put that community at risk. We have chosen to delay the fair so that it can be enjoyed as it is meant to be enjoyed, at a later date.”

It is hoped that the show will go ahead later this year, “when the situation improves” and ticket costs will be refunded or exchanged for one of the show’s other editions in New York, LA, Montreal or Berlin.

Meanwhile, the bi-annual Grands Jours de Bourgogne tasting has likewise been called off.

Due to take place from 9-13 March, Raphaël Dubois, president of the Association of Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne, said: “We cannot today guarantee favorable health and safety conditions for our visitors and exhibitors.

“It is a decision we take with a heavy heart, because we realize the consequences it may have for the wine region and the various organizers of the many facets if this event, official or otherwise. Taking account of the crowded industry calendar, we are going to look into the best options for rescheduling. We will inform you as soon as any decision has been taken.”
