Programme for ProWein goes City 2020 revealed

The world’s largest wine show, ProWein, will return to Düsseldorf next month, and with the final touches in place, organisers are now planning the exhibition’s afterparties around the city.

ProWein 2020 will take place from 15–17 March in Düsseldorf and, as with each year, organisers have planned a series of dinners, wine tastings and informal networking events across the city to help buyers and winemakers unwind after a long day traversive the exhibition hall; ProWein goes City.

“This program was originally focused solely on end consumers, who are the ones who ultimately buy the bottles,” said Michael Degen, Executive Director at Messe Düsseldorf GmbH.

“Yet at some point over the 14 years that we’ve been organising ProWein goes city, we realised that our exhibitors and trade fair visitors would also very much appreciate these events and the truly sparkling atmosphere of the city.”

Some 55 different restaurants, hotels and specialty retailers will be taking part in this year’s program.

Over 6,900 exhibitors of wines and spirits registered for last year’s ProWein, from 64 different nations. The largest exhibitor nations at ProWein 2019 were Italy (1,654) and France (1,576), followed by Germany (978), Overseas (600), Austria (335), Spain (661) and Portugal (387). There were also an additional 400 spirits exhibitors.
