Thieves made off with a haul of Chivas whisky worth in the region of £100,000 in the town of Paisley in Scotland in the early hours of Friday morning.

Chivas Whisky’s secure site in in Paisley, Renfrewshire, was broken into last Friday morning

As reported by The Independent, the whisky was stolen a “targeted and co-ordinated theft” from a yard in Paisley, Renfrewshire, belonging to Chivas Brothers.

Police are appealing for information after the break-in took place during the morning of Friday 18 October at the Chivas-owned secure site in Paisley.

The police are seeking information about a white lorry with a blue trailer that was seen carrying a 20ft red container in Renfrew Road towards the M8 shortly after 2am.

“This was a targeted and co-ordinated theft that has been carried out with the plan to sell the alcohol on illegally,” Detective Inspector David Wagstaff told The Independent.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area between 1.20am and 2.20am on Friday 18 October and saw the vehicle, or anything suspicious, to contact us,” he added.
