Ellis Wines appoints next generation family member

UK wine importer and supplier Ellis Wines has strengthened its family ties with the appointment of Holly Ellis, the daughter of managing director James Ellis, as a trainee sales manager.

Holly joins the company with experience in events and hospitality, having studied for a BA (Hons) in event management at the University of Gloucestershire.

Her previous roles have included stints with the Concerto Group working at OXO2, Genuine Dining and Create Food.

During the first six months in her new position, Holly will also spend time working in the customer service and marketing departments. As part of her induction, she will be completing her WSET Level 1 and 2 examinations with a view to joining the sales team in 2020.

Holly joins her cousin Stefan Ellis in representing the next generation of the family involved in the firm.

Commenting on Holly’s appointment, finance director William Ellis said: “We are delighted that another family member from the next generation will become part of the company as we feel it’s an important step in ensuring the continued involvement and succession for the future.”

Earlier this year, Rupert Lovie, head of marketing at Ellis told the drinks business about the company’s plans to counteract potential logistical issues caused by Brexit. He also called for the greater regulation and a clearer definition of vegan wines.
