Pol Roger named official Champagne of Barbarian FC

Winston Churchill’s favourite fizz, Pol Roger, has been named the official Champagne of Barbarian FC rugby football club for the 2018/19 season.

Pol Roger is now the official Champagne of Barbarian FC

The partnership agreement is the latest in a long line of sporting collaborations for the house, which is also the official Champagne of Bath Rugby club.

The courageously titled Barbarian FC was founded in 1890 by rugby enthusiast William Percy Carpmael at Friary Field in Hartlepool.

“We are delighted to be partnering with such an exciting sporting institution such as the Baa baa’s men’s and women’s teams.

“Pol Roger has a rich tradition of enjoying and supporting domestic and international rugby. We look forward to an exciting partnership featuring alongside some of the worlds most talented rugby players,” said Paul Graham, director of business development at Pol Roger Portfolio.

Chris Maidment, honorary secretary of Barbarian FC added: “The Barbarians and Pol Roger both have a rich heritage stretching back into the 19th century and a shared commitment to excellence and enjoyment.

“These qualities are as important today as when we were both founded and we’re delighted to form this partnership.

“Pol Roger’s partnership with the Barbarians underlines the affection and respect in which this unique club is held in the sporting world.”

Pol Roger will mark the start of the partnership at Barbarian FC’s first game of the season, The Killik Cup, against Argentina, held at Twickenham on 1 December.
