Head of Thiénot Group Asia departs

Thomas Percillier, head of Thienot Group Asia has announced his departure from the company after 17 years at the French wine group which owns a majority share in Bordeaux négociant CVBG and several Champagne houses including Champagne Thiénot.

“Just a short note to let you know that after close to 25 years in Asia of which 17 years with Thiénot-CVBG, I decided to leave the company and move back to France (Paris) to join Filips Wine, a young and dynamic fine wine merchant based in Paris (Montreuil),” Percillier wrote to his friends and colleagues in the wine trade.

Prior to joining Champagne Thiénot, Percillier worked for seven years for CVBG.

In 2007 the Thiénot Group acquired a major stake in the négociant CVBG. In addition to owning three estates in Bordeaux, the group also owns the Champagne houses Thiénot, Canard-Duchêne, Joseph Perrier and Marie Stuart.

Filips Wine, meanwhile, is a fine wine importer founded by Fred Siewertz in 2004, which specialises in Burgundy, Rhône and rare Champagne.

Speaking of the his new role, Percillier said: “To say that I am excited about this new beginning and the prospect of heading a small team of young commercial talents would be an understatement.”
