From 23-25 September, Vinexpo will host its ‘Explorer’ event in Sonoma County, following the successful launch of the concept last year in Austria.

The event later this month will see the major wine buyers meet directly with the producers of 60 wineries from across Sonoma County in an intensive two-day schedule of winery visits, networking dinners, bespoke ‘One-to-Wine’ business meetings and masterclasses.

As previously reported by db, Vinexpo Explorer was conceived to immerse leading buyers in the winemaking and culture of an up-and-coming wine region or country, with Vienna the host city for the first edition of this novel concept.

Speaking in advance of this year’s US-based event, Caroline Shaw, who is an executive board member for Sonoma County Vintners, and executive vice president at Jackson Family Wines, stressed the importance of Vinexpo Explorer for Sonoma, saying that the region was best appreciated by visiting it “in person”.

She also said, “By combining the discovery of our region with meaningful connections between senior buyers and decision makers, Vinexpo Explorer will forge strong, long-term business relationships.”

In a previous interview with db, Shaw said that the Vinexpo event would be “an opportunity to elevate the Sonoma brand.”
