Deadline to enter Drinks Business Asian Awards extended

The Drinks Business Hong Kong, the leading trade publication in Asia, is set to award excellence in the Asian, Australian and New Zealand wine trade at the inaugural Drinks Business Asian Awards, set to tale place on 9 November at the Renaissance Hong Kong Harbour View Hotel.

The Drinks Business Asian Awards was launched this year riding on the back of the success of our global edition, The Drinks Business Awards. Now in its 15th year, the annual celebration has become one of the most respected awards in the global drinks industry, with the 2017 awards ceremony, which takes place every year at the London Wine Fair, recognising every aspect of the trade from retail sector to importers, logistics, design, social media marketing campaign and launches.

The Asian Awards has been launched at a time of fast growth in the Asian wine market. China alone will represent 72% of worldwide wine imports by 2020, making it the world’s second most valuable market, according to a joint report by Vinexpo and IWSR.

In other parts in Asia, Japan is described as an “exciting market” by the trade organisation, while Hong Kong’s wine consumption by volume is projected to grow to 4.23 million cases by 2020, up from 3.28 million cases in 2011.

Poised to become the only business and trade orientated awards for the drinks industry in Asia, the awards consist of three main categories: Personality, Marketing and Business.

In the Personality category, leading personalities from the drinks industry and trend setters will battle it out for Man of the Year, Woman of the Year, Young Achiever of the Year, and Retail Buyer of the Year.

Rewarding the best marketing efforts, The Drinks Business Asian Awards will highlight the most successful marketing and launch campaigns in the Asia Pacific region with awards for Best Launch, Best Social Media Campaign and Best Drinks Event.

Under the Business category, entrants will compete for Best Drinks Company of the Year (Wine, Spirits & Beer), Best PR Company (Wine, Spirits & Beer), Best Retail Award (Wine, Spirits & Beer), On-trade Supplier of the Year, Best Online Retailer, Travel Retail Operator of the Year, and Fine Wine Retailer of the Year.

The deadline for entry and payment has been extended to 9 October 2017 and supporting materials must be submitted by 16 October. Entry fee for the first entry is HK$1,900 and HK$1,600 for additional entries.
