Coravin appoints APAC marketing director

Sanam Thakur has joined the Coravin office in Hong Kong as marketing director for the Asia Pacific region.

Previously, Thakur had eight years of branding and marketing experience in the luxury sector across the United States and Asia.

She most recently headed up DFS Group’s category marketing team in Hong Kong, where she oversaw global launches for over 250 luxury brands. Thakur moved to Hong Kong after completing her education at UC Berkeley in California.

In her new role with Coravin, Thakur will oversee the branding, visibility and activations of Coravin in the Asia Pacific region as part of the company’s continued international expansion.

Christian Pillsbury, director of sales for Asia Pacific said:

“Sanam will add invaluable marketing expertise as we enter new markets in Asia. “The breadth of knowledge she brings and her track record of building campaigns for the world’s leading luxury brands will help us share the Coravin experience with an ever-growing group of wine lovers.”

Since launching in 2013, Coravin has reached over 30 countries and more than 1,000 restaurant and retail partners including Smith & Wollensky, Swire Hotels, Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus and Sur La Table.

“Coravin is revolutionizing the wine-drinking experience,” said Thakur. “I am excited to help extend this experience to a new and diverse group of consumers across Asia Pacific.”
