ASC announces Yalumba China deal

Effective from July, ASC Fine Wines will become the exclusive agents for Australia’s Yalumba Wine Company in Mainland China.

The deal will see fine wines from the Yalumba Wine Company, the Hill-Smith Family Vineyards and its sister vineyard, Nautilus Estate distributed exclusively in Mainland China by ASC Fine Wines.

It was announced at ASC’s 20th anniversary on 26 April by ASC’s CEO, Bruno Baudry and Robert Hill-Smith, proprietor and Chairman of Yalumba Wine Company.

Baudry said: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Yalumba Wine Company, the Hill-Smith Family Vineyards and their sister Nautilus Estate of Marlborough, New Zealand, to our portfolio of fine wines. They are well admired fine wine brands worldwide. The addition will be pivotal to ASC’s continuous growth in the new stage of development of China’s dynamic wine market.”

Yalumba has been with Summergate Fine Wines & Spirits over the last 11 years and Hill-Smith acknowledged the company’s support over that time:

“Ian Ford and Brendan O’Toole and their team have continually supported our efforts in China and we sincerely thank them for their energetic commitment to our company, its people and our wine sales. We wish them every success. It is now time for us to align ourselves with ASC in China to further develop our brands with a new partner,” he said.

Baudry, Hill-Smith and Yuji Yamazaki, the President and CEO of Suntory Wine International – ASC’s parent company – will all be attending Vinexpo next month.
