Highlights of Christie’s HK sale
Christie’s first Hong Kong sale of 2016 is awash with top Burgundy and Bordeaux – here is a selection of the best lots on offer.
Coinciding with Christie’s 30th anniversary, the first fine wine sale of 2016 is awash with an impressive line-up of Latour, Pétrus, Le Pin, Henri Jayer, and Domaine de la Romanée Conti which hail from Peter Chu’s private collection and also Christie’s third installment of its Esteemed Connoisseur’s Private Collection – the first and second parts of which featured in previous sales in 2014 and 2015.
Tim Triptree, head of wine for Christie’s commented: “We are particularly excited to be offering Part III of an Esteemed Connoisseur’s Private Collection, a continuation of the collection that was first featured in 2014 and then again with Part II in 2015. In this sale the collection features many of the finest producers from Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhône, Tuscany and Napa Valley.
“We are also pleased to be offering Part II of the Collection of Peter Chu that comprises a wide array of fine vintages of Classed Growth Bordeaux both for enjoyment now and for longer-term cellaring.”

Christie’s top lot is this rare find of 12 bottles of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tache 1990 with an estimate of HK$ 320,000-500,000.
Lot 32: Château Mouton-Rothschild 1960s magnums
Lot 32 comprises a mixed six magnum case of 1960s Château Mouton-Rothschild with an estimate of HK$ 26,000–40,000.
