McWilliam’s launches Appellation range in Hong Kong

Sixth generation winemaker Scott McWilliam hosted a tasting this week at Italian eatery Cecconi’s to introduce the Appellation range from his family’s winery in Riverina, New South Wales.

Distributed by Capstone Wines, the Appellation range includes the Tumbarumba Chardonnay, Canberra Syrah and Hilltops Shiraz.

The tasting highlighted the McWilliam’s move to revamp its global portfolio and penetrate the Asia market. Earlier this year, three McWilliam’s vineyards were bought by Hong Kong agricultural research, marketing and development company, CK Life Sciences.

“It’s an absolute pleasure to visit Hong Kong and share the traditions of winemaking that have been in my family for six generations,” said Scott McWilliam.

“Our love for the land and spirit of innovation continues today and the wines we make are born out of these family values and a long-term view on nurturing the vine. We’re delighted to be releasing our McWilliam’s Appellation range along with our diverse portfolio of wines in Hong Kong, which is a very important market for our future in Asia.”
