Spiegelau taps into craft beer trend

Glassmaker Spiegelau has launched a new range of glassware for craft beer lovers.

The “Beer Classics” is a range of glasses designed “tailored” to match popular beer styles and “ensure the characteristics of appearance, aroma, taste and finish are fully appreciated.”

Michael Ironside from the Craft Brewing Society commented: “When I speak to consumers with an interest in craft beer, they agree that good glassware is not simply about aesthetics alone, but rather it is about what the glass does to the look, smell and taste of the beer”.

Spiegelau said in a statement that “with over 30 microbreweries in London alone, craft brewers are working together to revive the UK as the brewing capital of the world. The beer produced offers artisanal overtones and endless flavours appealing to traditionally non-beer drinking demographics, such as female drinkers and proving a respectable beverage for unique and memorable wedding toasts.”

The glasses (pictured) are made from thin blown non-lead crystal and are designed to match wheat beer, pilsner, lager/India pale ale and dark beers – stemmed pilsner glasses are also available.

The glasses can be bought as a set for £30 or in pairs for £15.
