Bottle Green Limited will be laughing all the way to the bank after its new Californian brand, Route 88, was featured as the official wine sponsor of the 15th annual British Comedy Awards, which were watched by an estimated seven million viewers last month.
Hosted by the ubiquitous Jonathan Ross, the awards were broadcast live from ITV London studios in December, and Route 88 was served to celebrity guests during the awards ceremony itself and at the after-show party.

Launched in the UK less than a year ago Route 88, which retails at £4.99, has gained distribution through several UK grocery multiples.

The Route 88 brand was developed in northern California by Bottle Green senior winemaker, Mark Nairn, in partnership with the Oak Ridge Winery.  db January 2006
