Condos sold with use of private cellar

The majority of wine lovers make do with a corner of the garage, but the owners of condos in one Brooklyn block will get access to their own private wine cellar and tasting room.

Located in Brooklyn’s Vinegar Hill area, the apartment block boasts its own private cellar built into its basement which has space for all residents’ collections of vintages.

The boutique condo building at 47 Bridge Street also has a tasting room with seating for large parties exclusively for the use of residents and their guests.

Its 25 condos are set to launch onto New York’s property market next week with prices starting at US$895,000 for a 700-square-foot one-bedroom apartment, rising to $2.4 million for a three-bedroom apartment.

Pre-built cellars are fast becoming the latest add-on in the luxury retail market as developers fight for the attention of buyers.

While communal wine cellars are not unheard of at some of Manhattan’s most expensive buildings, this is the first of its kind to go on sale in Brooklyn, according to NYdailynews.com.

The plush pad also features a fitness center, inner courtyard and children’s playroom.
