Sporting surge puts beer quality in focus
As pubs face one of the busiest trading periods of the year, industrial hose supplier Flextech says breweries are placing greater emphasis on maintaining beer quality during periods of high demand.

Major sporting tournaments are prompting breweries to focus on maintaining beer quality and consistency as pubs and bars prepare for increased demand, according to industrial hose solutions supplier Flextech.
The company said it has seen increased interest in its Brewflex® brewery hose range as businesses across the drinks supply chain gear up for one of the hospitality sector’s busiest trading periods.
While major sporting events bring a surge in customers to pubs and bars, Flextech argued that breweries face the challenge of increasing production without compromising quality.
Quality under pressure
The supplier said consumers are placing greater value on quality as the cost of visiting the pub continues to rise.
It pointed to recent industry research from CAMRA, which found that the average price of a pint reached £4.68 in 2025, compared with £3.68 in 2019 in the region surveyed.

According to Flextech, every aspect of the customer experience becomes increasingly important during busy periods, from the atmosphere of a venue to the quality and consistency of the beer served.
Martin Robinson of Flextech said: “Major sporting events highlight something which is true across the drinks industry all year round – quality matters. Customers may not see the processes and equipment behind the scenes, but they experience the result in every pint they order.
“We have seen increased interest in our brewery hoses as the industry looks for reliable solutions that help them maintain consistency during high-demand periods. The match may be the reason people walk into a pub, but the quality of the beer is what brings them back. We believe that the perfect pint doesn’t start at the bar; it starts with the hose.”
Brewery applications
Flextech said Brewflex has been developed specifically for brewery and beverage applications where hygiene, durability and reliability are essential.
The company believes that maintaining consistency throughout the production process becomes increasingly important during peak trading periods, when breweries are under greater pressure to meet demand without affecting the quality of the finished product.
