Drink driver calls police to report drink driver

A man involved in a collision with a drunk driver called police to report the criminal behaviour, forgetting that he too had been driving under the influence.

As reported by the BBC, the driver called police after a crash as he suspected the other driver was drunk.

However he “forgot” that he too had been drinking.

Derbyshire Police were called to the scene of the crash at junction 25 of the M1, near Long Eaton, at about 17:30pm on Sunday.

The Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit tweeted that the driver who rang them had forgotten “he [was] also drunk”.

The roads policing unit added: “You couldn’t make this up. Very minor collision at the junction causing no damage. One driver suspects the other is drunk so quite rightly calls us. Forgetting he is also drunk. Both arrested.”

Both men were charged with drink driving.
