TWE adds two new California wines to travel retail

Australian wine giant Treasury Wine Estates is adding two new wine collections from its American wineries – Beringer Vineyards and Sterling Vineyards – to the travel retail category, in response to growing interest in American wines from consumers.

The Beringer Vineyards ‘Rhine House Collection’ and ‘The Pioneer’s Journey’ from Sterling Vineyards are described as having “an easy-to-drink style,” according to the company.

“Beringer Vineyards and Sterling Vineyards are icons of Napa Valley that represent the renowned and distinctive California styles recognised by wine lovers around the world,” said Barry Galloway, TWE’s general manager of Global Travel Retail.

“These wines were produced and hand-selected for global travel retail combining quality, elegance and an approachable fruit profile at optimal price points to extend the penetration of the Beringer and Sterling brands and realise their potential within the travel retail wine category globally. The limited production of these wines makes them especially appealing to traveling shoppers as our consumer research has indicated that more than 55% of all buyers expressed that limited edition and exclusives would encourage them to buy more*.”

TWE is the owner of seven wineries with 46 vineyards across California. “The debuting collections from Beringer Vineyards and Sterling Vineyards complement TWE’s existing luxury US wine offerings, which are already popular with travel retail consumers, to further drive growth of the two brands along with the TWE Californian wine portfolio within the travel retail environment,” added Galloway.

The wines are available globally in the travel retail channel immediately.
