VIDEO: Jim Beam has created a voice-controlled smart decanter that pours on command
American whiskey brand Jim Beam has created the “world’s first” intelligent bourbon decanter which pours whiskey when you ask it to.
The voice-activated hardware has proved so popular with consumers that it has already sold out online.
Called “Jim” and voiced by Jim Beam’s master distiller, Fred Noe, the decanter includes a compartment for bourbon storage and voice command capabilities.
The gadget was launched this month just in-time for the festive season, with pre-ordered decanters expected to be shipped out by 15 December.

The handy gadget is a send-up of new smart-home devices like Amazon Echo, which act more or less as personal assistants to those who can afford them.
However, Jim Beam says the decanter will only have 3G capability for the first six months, after which its voice control will be deactivated.
