UK-based specialist beer importer James Clay & Sons has promoted Stuart Pearson to the role of head of sales. db reports.

Pearson, who has spent 13 years with James Clay and Sons, revealed that his journey with the company “continues to evolve” as he takes on the position and said that he is already planning his next moves for the business to assist the sales team.

Opportunities ahead

Describing how he is getting prepared for the role Pearson said: “Not one for relaxing holidays, this time I decided to allow myself the opportunity to have a few days of doing nothing. It provided me with the time and space to think about the changes our business is going through, the opportunities ahead, and the mindset, tools and approach needed to help lead our sales team through the next chapter.”

Showing how much he believes in the people who work alongside him at the family-owned business, Pearson said that it is “the team itself” that gives him “the greatest confidence” and pointed out that he knew he was “fortunate to work alongside a hugely talented group of people who care passionately about the hospitality industry and who represent some of the very best beers available anywhere in the UK”.

Unwavering commitment

Pearson explained: “As our business moves ever closer to its 50th year of operation, I’m reassured that the constant evolution overseen by Ian and James has created a business built on passion, determination and an unwavering commitment to supporting our customers and growing together.”

He added: “I’m excited by the challenge ahead and grateful for the trust that’s been placed in me to help shape what comes next.”
