The best rosé wines between £20 and £50

Having picked out the best bottles priced under £20 from this year’s Global Rosé Masters, now we have selected our top-scoring expressions that retail between £20 and £50 in the UK – including the category leader from Provence, along with brands from South Africa, Portugal and Spain.

The following 16 wines were the best-performers from the most comprehensive blind rosé-only professional tasting in the UK, and feature 14 Gold medallists, and two Masters, which is our ultimate accolade, only awarded for exceptional examples of their type.

The list below begins and finishes with our two Master-winners, and features a range of fairly high-priced wines, although today, almost all pink wine from Provence is priced at or over £20, including the benchmark brand: Whispering Angel (which made the Gold-medal grade in 2026 and you can read our thoughts on the famous rosé below).

You can see the full range of medalists from the competition by clicking here, and our list of Golds priced sub £20 by clicking here. This fine and yet fun rosé brings a little more creaminess to the party of pink wines from the maker of Whispering Angel – Caves d’Esclans. That’s because some of the blend is aged in French oak, imparting a touch of vanilla richness, although the main flavours are juicy grapefruit and cherry, along with a subtle bitter citrus bite and bone dry chalky note on the finish. Delicious, and worth trading up to from its ‘whispering’ sibling – especially if you’re looking for a rosé to partner with food. (Patrick Schmitt MW)

And, following a blind tasting against the competition over £20, this phenomenal brand has proven to be a benchmark in style and quality. Key to its appeal is a pleasing balance between a soft mid-palate mouthfeel and a gently refreshing finish, with such textural competence complemented by flavours from white cherry to peach, pink grapefruit to juicy lemon, along with a touch of cream, offset by a dry chalkiness and subtle zestiness. Such characters linger too, meaning that this pretty-looking drink does not suffer from a short, watery finish. (Patrick Schmitt MW)

This remarkable rosé may have the pale pink appearance of a southern French rosé, but the flavours are punchier than you’d find in Provence. That means plenty of ripe red fruit on the nose and palate, even a mouth-filling touch of strawberry jam, balanced by a lovely mix of white cherry, nectarine and grapefruit zest. Once swallowed, the wine leaves behind a dry, chalky sensation, ensuring that this fine rosé is mouthwatering, and an ideal partner for fatty foods, such as jamón Ibérico. (Patrick Schmitt MW)

This wine comes from the historic estate vineyard adjacent to the 11th-century chapel with relics of Ste Roseline, giving it a wonderful history and exceptional terroir. This wine, very pale vieux rose in hue, has dried cherry fruit and a delicate creamy oak undertone. Light-bodied and dry, the palate shows concentration of fruit, with fresh acidity in balance and leesy notes adding texture. Still young, the wine will nonetheless be a good complement to freshly-caught river trout, seared in butter with a hint of mixed herbs. (Patricia Stefanowicz MW)
