Villa Sandi welcomes fourth generation of family leadership

A new chapter begins for historic Prosecco winery Villa Sandi as Diva and Leonardo Moretti Polegato, both part of the family’s fourth generation, step into the roles of vice presidents and members of the board of directors.

The move marks a significant milestone in the company’s evolution, and flags the transition to the fourth generation of the family at the helm of historic Prosecco house, Villa Sandi.

Giancarlo Moretti Polegato, president of the winery which reports a turnover of around 132 million, said the new appointments represents “a natural and strategic step for the future of Villa Sandi”.

He said that both Diva and Leonardo have grown within the business, gaining a deep understanding of its heritage and the evolving global landscape. “Their energy, vision, and international experience will be key as we continue to invest in export markets, innovation, and hospitality.”

Bringing expertise

Both hold key operational roles in the business. Diva, 31, brings a global perspective shaped by her experience as a global brand ambassador and area manager across the US, UK and Mexico. In her new role, she will continue to focus on boosting Villa Sandi’s positioning abroad.

Leonardo Moretti Polegato, 28, has a background in finance and operations, with experience in process optimization and supply chain management. Since joining the company, he has worked to enhance operational efficiency and support the integration of new technologies across the business. 

A new era

He supports operational management while strongly contributing to the company’s modernization and production efficiency.

“With the new generation of the family technology, flexibility and sustainability are the key pillars; a new mindset that preserves the same timeless commitment and passion that have guided the hands and minds of the previous generations,” a spokesperson for the winery said.
