Champagne Lanson appoints new head of travel retail
Lanson has announced that Marian Geoffroy will be taking on the role of head of global travel retail and Japan for the Champagne house.
Geoffroy has worked with Reims-based Champagne Lanson since 2013, with a particular focus on export markets in Europe and Asia, and especially Japan. Prior to joining Lanson, Geoffroy spent almost three years as export director at Champagne Lallier, and he also managed the wine cellar for Dometic/Electrolux.
Appointed head of global travel retail and Japan, Geoffroy will be succeeding Albane Lussat.
Lanson’s export director Emmanuel Gantet commented on Geoffroy’s new role: “Marian’s vast experience and strategic insight make him an ideal leader for our global travel retail operations. His dedication and expertise will be instrumental in driving Champagne Lanson’s growth and enhancing our presence in key markets.”

In addition to working alongside Gantet, Geoffroy will also be collaborating with trade marketing manager of global travel retail and export Loraine Wojcik.
Japan, another part of Geoffroy’s brief, is a critical market for Champagne. According to data from the Comité Champagne, the East Asian country is the third biggest market for the fine French fizz in terms of both volume (15.3 million bottles) and value (€447.7 million), just behind the US and UK in first and second place respectively.
Lanson is not the only Champagne house to increase its efforts in the global travel retail sector. Last summer, Moët Hennessy Travel Retail has unveiled the first Les Caves de Champagne retail concept in the Americas at São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport. The permanent space, developed in partnership with travel retailer AVOLTA, brings together Moët Hennessy Champagne brands such as Armand de Brignac, Dom Pérignon, Veuve Clicquot, and Moët & Chandon in one place.
