Founded as a joint venture with Hedonism Wines six years ago, Hide gained a Michelin Star in October 2018, within six months of opening.

“It has been an amazing experience helping set up and run a restaurant of such scale and with so much attention to detail,” Dabbous commented on the subject of his departure. “When we started it was a building site, now it feels like I am leaving a well-loved and established restaurant.”

He then shared that he would “enjoy some time with my family and friends before focusing on the next adventure”.

Executive chef Josh Angus will be taking the helm of Hide once Dabbous departs early next year.

Prior to joining Hide when it opened, Angus did stints at Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, as a development chef for ingredients brand Belazu, and also at Dabbous’ first restaurant, the self-titled Dabbous in Fitzrovia, which operated from 2012 to 2017. Dabbous himself also worked at Le Manoir, and spent time at Claude Bosi’s Hibiscus and Mugaritz, in the Basque Country.

“We are very grateful for everything that Ollie has contributed towards Hide’s success and wish him the best of luck for his future ventures,” said Hedonism Group CEO Tatiana Fokina. “We are incredibly fortunate to have such a strong kitchen team, who have been together for many years, and we are confident that Hide will continue to thrive under Josh’s leadership.”
