McGuigan Gold Label launches to provide ‘accessible luxury’

Renowned Australian winemaker Australian Vintage, announces the launch of McGuigan Gold Label, which it aims to be a “new standard of accessible luxury in the growing premium wine category”.

It said the new wine collection “combines accessibility and premium quality” and aims to cater for consumers seeking a trade-up experience for the at-home occasion.

Recent research from Wine Intelligence reveals that share of spend of premium wines within the £8- £10 is growing, particularly amongst 35–55-year-olds, the winemaker said.

McGuigan Gold Label will launch with two of Australia’s signature wine varietals, Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc, with each wine crafted to express the unique characteristics of its grape variety.

The new McGuigan Gold Label range has been designed to “proudly stand out on the shelf” and answer consumer demand for a reliable step-up from McGuigan Black Label, it said.

Brand Manager at McGuigan Wines, Oliver Hoey said: “We are thrilled to introduce the McGuigan Gold Label range, designed to elevate at-home occasions, and provide consumers with an accessible premium wine experience. We are seeing a growing trend for premium wines, particularly trade ups with brands they trust. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy a touch of luxury, and the McGuigan Gold Label collection embodies that ethos.”

Available from September in Sainsbury’s nationwide for RRP £10.00, the new McGuigan Gold Label range comes in:

  • The Shiraz, bursting with aromas of dark fruits and spice.
