Three simple recipes to help celebrate World Martini Day

Happy World Martini Day! To celebrate this fabulous cocktail, db has enlisted the help of Grey Goose to offer up three iconic recipes.

A classic martini can be made with gin or vodka and any vermouth and served with a lemon twist or an olive, with variations on the amounts along with any additions such as olive brine if served ‘dirty’. But there are many differences that can make their way into a martini recipe dependent upon taste or whether the cocktail is to be sipped or consumed immediately. A martini can also be made shaken or stirred based on your preference and how cool you want the drink to stay over time, or how chilled you prefer it to be as immediately as possible.

However, for a Grey Goose Vodka Martini, the recipe is below along with two other adapted recipes for an Espresso Martini and a Dry Apple Martini.

The Vodka Martini

Ingredients
50 ml Grey Goose Vodka
10 ml Martini Extra Dry Vermouth
A dash of orange bitters

Method
Add Grey Goose vermouth, and bitters to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Stir deliberately and strain into a chilled martini cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon.

The Espresso Martini

A twist on the world’s most popular martini. This Espresso Martini is an excellent digestif to follow an indulgent meal. The Grey Goose complements the sweetness of the liqueur, which is perfectly balanced with the coffee.

Ingredients
50 ml Grey Goose Vodka
30 ml Single Origin Espresso
20 ml Premium Coffee Liqueur
A pinch of salt
3 x coffee beans

Method
Add Grey Goose Vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur, and salt to a shaker. Shake briskly and strain into a martini cocktail glass. Garnish with three coffee beans.

The Dry Apple Martini

The Dy Apple Martini is a brand new recipe this year which is really tasty and has been inspired by fashion mogul Carine Roitfeld for Grey Goose. The recipe is as follows:

Ingredients
35ml Grey Goose Vodka
35ml White Port
10ml Apple Eau de Vie
5ml simple (1:1) sugar syrup

Method
Stir over cubed ice in a mixing glass or tin until bitingly cold. Strain into a coupette or martini glass and garnish with an apple twist.
