Chris Martin stuns pub goers with impromptu performance over a pint

It’s not everyday that your local pub entertainment turns out to be one of the most successful singer/songwriters of a generation. Enter, via the pub car park, Chris Martin.

As Andy Millman’s character in Extras may have exclaimed, “it’s only Chris Martin from Coldplay!”

Proving once again what a standup guy he really is, the Coldplay frontman treated patrons of the Stag Inn in Hinton Charterhouse to an impromptu performance after nipping in on his way back from Glastonbury.

According to landlord Chris Parkin, Martin ordered two pints of Guinness and went to sit outside, while the pub’s staff were all of a chatter about what a dead ringer he was for the Coldplay singer. It turns out, they were spot on.

Parkin had a couple coming in for a meeting about their wedding, and when the couple remarked to Chris Martin that their first dance was going to be to the Coldplay hit A Sky Full of Stars, he offered to play it for them there and then on the pub’s piano.

You never know who might pop in for a pint! @coldplay what a lovely man he is.” The Stag Inn wrote on Twitter, alongside a video of the performance.

And after dropping a few hints on marriage to the couple to be, Martin and his also-world-famous girlfriend Dakota Johnson exited the building.

According to landlord Chris Parkin, Chris Martin seemed likely a genuinely nice bloke, even though his kitchen staff had been more impressed by his girlfriend.

Chris Martin isn’t the only celeb to shock pub goers with a visit of late. John Cena and Jason Momoa recently turned up at an Irish pub in London.
