Wine of the Week: Saronsberg Shiraz
We bring you an outstanding Shiraz from Tulbagh in South Africa – a relatively new region in the Western Cape, and an area to watch when it comes to reds from this grape.

And it’s easy to do this bearing in mind the quality of wine hailing from this nation, such as our pick for this week, which was The Shiraz Master in the £20-30 category of the Global Syrah Masters 2020 – meaning it took home the highest accolade on offer.
The wine was from Saronsberg in the Western Cape’s Tulbagh district, and a pure Shiraz from the 2018 vintage.

A delicious, vibrant, smooth red with plenty of fleshy, ripe blackcurrant fruit, peppercorn, and toast, with notes of plums and cedar too, while a fine tannic grip provides an appealing dry finish to this juicy wine.
