Premium Japanese Blended Whisky Onikishi launched in HK and China

Hong-Kong based Wine & Spirits importer Milestone Beverages has introduced Onikishi, a premium Japanese blended whisky, to Hong Kong and China, which will soon roll out to the Australian and European markets.

Onikishi, whereby “Oni-” means demon and “-Kishi” means samurai, represents the perpetual battle between the traditional and visionary spirits of Japan, two opposites that co-exist in harmonious union.

Onikishi whisky is made in Taka-cho, Hyogo prefecture, a town framed by mountains with a mild climate. The distillers bring the knowledge and experiences of producing spirits while breathing in a refreshing flair into whisky-making. The result combines Scotch traditions and Japanese savoir-faire.

Distilled with pure waters and aged in white oak barrels, according to its makers Onikishi whisky delivers a well-balanced body and oriental accents.

“The nose departs American white oak nuanced by honey tones, on the palate there is an immediate rush of honey and vanilla, developing to a more robust caramel mouthfeel and a warmer cedar smoked mid-palate, before drawing to a woody note finish with a zest of yuzu,” its makers say.

Bottled at 43% ABV, Onikishi is an easy-drinking Japanese-style blended whisky that you can enjoy in many ways, such as neat, with ice, or mixed into cocktails.

The whisky is owned distributed by Milestone Beverages, a Hong-Kong based, independent beverage brand builder. Partners Joe Milner and Damith Weerakoon cherry-pick quality liquids from prominent regions and suppliers across the world.
