Nusa Caña Rum partners with Milestone Beverages in Asia

Nusa Caña Rum is teaming up with Hong Kong-based brand builder Milestone Beverages to expand its footprint in Asia.

With the support of Milestone Beverages’ expertise and regional connections, Indonesian rum brand Nusa Caña is now available in 12 countries, including all of Marriott’s properties across South East Asia.

Nusa Caña co-founder Marc Rodrigues said of the partnership: “We are excited and confident to partner with Milestone Beverages, our values and views of the opportunities for the brand are perfectly aligned, so we can plug straight in and access their network immediately.”

In the Rum & Cachaça Masters 2020 held by The Spirits Business, the brand’s Tropical Island Rum and Spiced Island Rum were both awarded with gold medals. Recently, the company also launched the Kolaand Spritz RTDs.

The brand joins Milestone Beverages’ portfolio of self-owned labels such as Italina wine brand Atilius, Taisteal Scotch whisky and soon-to-be launched Japanese whisky Onikishi, as well as boutique names such as Langley’s English Gin and Canyon Oaks Californian wine for which it provides strategic Asian distribution.

“Nusa Caña and Milestone Beverages are kindred spirits, we bet on great growth in global brands from Asia and believe we’ve teamed up with the future of Asian and Global Rum” commented Joe Milner, founder of Milestone Beverages, a company with over 15 years of market knowledge and strategic connections in Asia.

The partners also share a belief in sustainability and conservation. All Nusa Caña labels are made from recycled sugar cane pulp – a by-product of the production process – giving them a lower production footprint and playing into a circular economy, in addition to the use of biodegradable POSM and collaboration with facilities that also commit to reducing waste and carbon footprint.

Milestone Beverages will next aim to launch Nusa Caña in Thailand and Japan.
