McGuigan’s Zero range launches at Asda and Sainsbury’s

Australia’s McGuigan Wines has expanded the distribution of its Zero range of alcohol-free wines into Sainsbury’s and Asda stores across the UK.

The on-trend range is already on sale at Morrisons, Londis and Budgens stores nationwide, having launched last November in the UK.

The Zero range is made up of five alcohol-free wines: a Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz, alongside a rosé and a sparkling wine. The wines, which cost £5 per bottle, contain no artificial sweeteners or additives.

Launched in 2019 after two years of development, the range is made using spinning cone technology at low temperatures to remove alcohol after the fermentation process, while ensuring the wines maintain the fruit in their flavour profiles.

“Widening the distribution of our alcohol-free range into Sainsbury’s and Asda is very exciting and shows that the innovation is meeting a specific consumer demand. This category is growing at a steady rate and we want McGuigan Zero to be playing a key part in it with our great tasting range,” McGuigan’s COO, Julian Dyer said.

“The UK’s appetite for the category is continuing to show strong growth. Consumers are turning to alcohol-free products as supplements to their regular wine repertoire as a means to reduce their overall unit consumption, and Zero is the premium product in response to that,” Dyer added.

McGuigan is expanding the Zero range into smaller formats from September, when the wines will be available in 187ml bottles.
