Majestic expands range on Deliveroo

UK retailer Majestic has expanded its partnership with Deliveroo, more than doubling its capacity to deliver wine to locked-down consumers.

Deliveroo has added a further 50 Majestic sites to its app delivery scheme, bringing the total number of shops it partners with to 80, including six new sites in London.

It comes as the retailer has also launched a ‘click and collect’ service, that will allow it to serve more people throughout the week and prevent long wait times for customers to be allowed in to stores.

As of today, people can order online and then choose a time slot to pick up their drinks from their local shop, reports DRN.

Majestic has also increased the range of drinks available on Deliveroo to include more than 50 wines, champagnes and spirits, which can be delivered straight to customers’ doors in as little as 30 minutes.

The newly developed wine list will focus on pairing key food styles to wine matches. The range also includes: Whispering Angel Rose, Bread & Butter Chardonnay California, Rioja Reserva Marques de Riscal, Tattinger Bru Reserve NV Champagne, Laurent Perrier La Cuvée Champagne and Plantation Rum Barbados, among others.

Majestic shut its doors to walk-in customers in March shortly after the UK government ordered all non-essential stores to close.

Robert Cooke, Majestic’s chief commercial officer, said: “Wine has never been so popular in the UK, we’re now officially a nation of oenophiles, and working together with Deliveroo we want to make that perfect glass as accessible as possible”
