HKTDC Wine & Spirits Fair returns for the 13th edition

HKTDC Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair will be held as scheduled from 5 to 7 November 2020 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Following the postponement of major wine trade fairs, HKTDC Wine & Spirits Fair is back for the 13th edition in November and will serve as an opportunity for industry professionals, buyers and exhibitors from around the globe to meet and mingle.

Due to the world challenge of Covid-19 this year, the HKSAR government has announced the launch of the Convention and Exhibition Industry Subsidy Scheme on 21 February 2020 to assist global wine and spirits companies to pick up pace in exploring markets and business opportunities in Hong Kong. Any company – local or overseas, large or small – will be subsidized 50% of its participation fee, subject to a cap of HK$10,000 (US$1,282).

In the 2019 edition, the fair showcased 1,075 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions around the world with new participation from Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine and Vietnam. It attracted over 15,000 trade buyers from 70 countries and regions throughout the trade days of the fair. The fair opened to the public on the last day and welcomed over 21,000 wine-lovers.

Apart from wine pavilions, the exhibition also showcased other thematic zones such as “The Whisky and Spirits Zone”; “Friends of Wine”, a special section displaying items that can go well with wine including baked products, truffle, biscuits and cheese; and “Wine Accessories and Services”, a hub catered towards the growing needs of Asia’s fine wine investors and collectors.

In the coming edition, visitors can also expect a multitude of activities such as wine tasting and olive oil tasting sessions, a ‘grand tasting’, free samples at the Whisky x Ice Bar and Champagne Avenue, a wine industry conference, masterclasses and seminars.

The 2020 Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Competition, held by the IWSC Group, will be concurrently held with the fair. As one of the largest wine and spirits competitions in Asia, award-winning results will be highlighted at HKIWSF so as to provide an excellent chance for additional exposure for awarded products. A number of regional food matching categories will be introduced, and winners could, as a result, further market themselves together with the Asian food and beverage industries. A discounted price will be exclusively offered to HKIWSF 2020 exhibitors for entering into the competition.

All the exhibitors, no matter if they are first timers or seasoned participants of HKIWSF, will be entitled to 5% and 10% discount respectively with an application received on or before 30 June 2020. For other available incentives, please refer to here.
