Tiger Beer raises funds for local food outlets in Southeast Asia

Tiger Beer has launched the #SupportOurStreets initiative with a total of over €950,000 pledged in Malaysia and Singapore to support local F&B operations to date.

The #SupportOurStreets initiative is calling on consumers across Southeast Asia to help local pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and food courts survive during these difficult times.

More than €950,000 has been pledged by Heineken Malaysia (MYR1.5 million) and Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore (SGD1 million) in the form of cash funds and vouchers that can be redeemed at diners’ favourite local F&B outlets once safe distancing measures are over.

The aim is to help local outlets generate enough cash flow to keep their business afloat now and to restore their business after the Covid-19 situation is contained. Moving forward, the campaign will expand from Malaysia and Singapore to Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam in the coming weeks. For the next phase, the plan is to support local talents, coming from diverse fields such as music, dance, fashion, art and food, by connecting them with an audience digitally.

Maud Meijboom-van Wel, brand director for Tiger Beer said: “The brand was born on the streets of Asia and during these unprecedented times, we believe it is more important than ever to champion and support the local pubs, restaurants, food outlets and all people that make our streets the lifeblood of every community.

“We’ll get past this and when we do, we will want to be back at our favourite local outlets with friends and family, so let’s support them until they are back on their feet.”
